Makayla and Phillip’s session took place in a beautiful little open field right next to a quiet lake here in Michigan. This Michigan lakefront couples session was filled with warm, natural light and the perfect peaceful setting to relax and have fun. They brought along their adorable pup, who added so much energy and joy to the session. It didn’t take long for everyone to settle in and enjoy the calm surroundings while spending time together.
These two have such a natural and easy connection. You could tell they are best friends by the way they laughed and looked at each other throughout the session. They were playful and relaxed, which made the whole experience feel really authentic. Their pup was a total star too, running around, chasing sticks, and even sneaking into a few pictures with plenty of personality. Whether walking through the tall grass or sitting quietly by the lake, their genuine love and comfort with each other shone through every moment.
One tip for sessions like this is to really take advantage of the natural light, especially during the golden hour just before sunset. It creates the most flattering, soft light without needing any extra equipment. Also, bringing a furry friend can help everyone feel more relaxed and add some fun spontaneity. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to just be yourselves and enjoy the moment.
